Dear Parish Family,
I am honored and grateful to serve as your pastor and witness the love of God each day in our parish community. Prayer is our greatest gift to God. Like oxygen for our lungs, prayer is the breath of life for our souls. I recently spoke about how to pray using four types of prayer: Adoration, Contrition, anksgiving and Supplication. In English these words have the acronym of ACTS. And always the result of prayer is to act, to do something to help others, to help ourselves and to evangelize.
Our God, who fearfully and wonderfully knit us together in our mother’s womb, has given so much to us. The talents we have are meant to be shared in our families and in our communities. It is because of the generosity of parishioners like you that our parish continues to provide the sacraments, foster prayer, educate, evangelize, and serve others.
I am very intentionally asking you to pray about your gifts: • Pray in adoration of the majesty and beauty of God and His creation.
- Pray in contrition, asking for mercy and forgiveness of your sins, knowing that God loves you.
- Pray in thanksgiving for your gifts and for the goodness that resides in you as a child of God.
- Pray in supplication, off ering up your needs and desires, that God will direct your thoughts and actions. And please also pray for the needs of our parish!
Prayerfully consider how you can respond to the call to share God’s love by making a commitment to fi nancially support our parish through our United in Christ program. With your help, we live and grow in our love for God, love for our parish, and service to our neighbor, supporting the mission of Christ.
We are called to be the beloved daughters and chosen sons of God. ank you for your prayer and action, answering the call here at St Elizabeth Seton Parish.
Gratefully yours in Christ,
Rev. Casey F. Jones, Pastor
