2026-2027 Faith Formation & Sacramental Preparation Registration

All Families

  • Register as members of the parish. [register here]
  • Attend Mass every Sunday (or Saturday night)

Babies and young children: Children who are 6 years old or younger should be baptized as soon as possible. Parents should contact the office for information.

Children 3-5 years old: Children who are 3, 4, or 5 years old (entering Kindergarten), may be registered for CGS (Catechesis of the Good Shepherd). They do not need to be baptized to be registered, but parents should contact the office for information about baptism.

Elementary School 1st-5th Grade

  • First Communion Preparation: Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion is a 2-year process that begins in 1st grade (or older).
  • First School Year: Children attend weekly Faith Formation class (Sundays 12:00-1:30).
  • Second School Year: Children attend weekly Faith Formation class AND participate in an additional sacramental prep program. One parent must attend this program with their parents.
  • After First Communion: Children should register for our Elementary Youth Group (a weekly Faith Formation program) and continue attending every year after First Communion.
  • Baptism: Parents of unbaptized Elementary School children (7+ years old) should register their child for weekly Faith Formation classes. Children will be baptized and receive First Holy Communion at Easter in the second school year, followed by First Reconciliation during the month after Baptism.

Catholic School Children

Those children who attend St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School or who are homeschooled (with religious education) are invited to register for our Elementary Youth Group and Middle School Youth Group.

Sacramental Preparation

SES or homeschool children who need to prepare for baptism, First Reconciliation, or First Communion register for Sacramental Preparation Sessions Only (2nd grade or older).

Middle School (6th to 8th Grade)

  • First Communion Preparation: Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion is a 2-year process.
  • First School Year: Children attend weekly Faith Formation class (Sundays 12:00-1:30).
  • Second School Year: Children attend weekly Faith Formation class AND participate in an additional sacramental prep program. One parent must attend this program with their parents.
  • After First Communion: Children should continue to grow in faith by attending our weekly Middle School youth group.
  • Baptism: Parents of unbaptized Middle School children should register their child for weekly Faith Formation classes. Children will be baptized and receive First Holy Communion at Easter in the second school year, followed by First Reconciliation during the month after Baptism. They will prepare for Confirmation during 9th and 10th grade.

High School (9th-12th Grade)

  • Confirmation Preparation: Preparation for Confirmation is a 2-year process, typically in 9th and 10th grade.
  • First School Year: Children attend weekly Faith Formation class (Sundays 12:00-1:30).
  • Second School Year: Children attend weekly Faith Formation class AND participate in an additional sacramental prep program.
  • Baptism and/or First Communion: Parents of High School children who also need baptism and/or First Communion should register their child for weekly Faith Formation classes and meet with the Faith Formation Director to determine when the child will receive Sacraments.
  • 12th Grade: Teens who are entering 12th grade and did not participate last school year, should contact the Director of Faith Formation to discuss participation in the adult class to prepare for sacraments.
